—We believe Softball is more than just a game

Built for the Community

Our league is about more than just playing softball — it’s a movement of pride, unity, and opportunity that extends far beyond the field. We believe in creating pathways for players of all ages and skill levels to grow, improve, and reach their full potential. At the same time, we bring families, friends, and fans together to celebrate the game and create unforgettable moments. Every game showcases talent and passion, but it also strengthens the connections that tie our community together.

Behind every athlete, every hour of practice, and every coach’s encouragement is a girl who fell in love with the game and never looked back. That love for softball is what fuels our league — inspiring our players to grow not only as athletes, but as confident young leaders both on and off the field.

Community First

Every practice and every game played strengthens the bond between players, fans.

Opportunities for Everyone

From beginners to seasoned athletes, our league offers opportunities for all skill levels.

More Than a Game

Softball builds confidence, friendships, leadership, and memories that last forever.

OUR PROGRAMS

Our girls softball programs bring athletes together to learn, compete, and grow.

There’s a program for every age and skill level, from beginners to seasoned athletes.

From first swings in T-Ball to competitive rec and select teams, we focus on building skills, confidence, and a love for the game in a positive, supportive environment.

Spring Recreation (February-May)

Our primary season is Spring, running from mid-February through late May. This recreational program is open to all players who live within our league boundaries. Softball experience is not required. We host a player evaluation day to help form balanced teams, but every registered athlete is placed on a team . Most games take place at home, with just the occasional away game.

All-Stars (May-July)

The All-Star program is our competitive tournament season held from late May through July. There are four main tournaments that the All-Star teams are guaranteed to play in. Eligibility is limited to players who participated in the Spring recreational season. All-Star teams compete with other All-Star teams from nearby leagues, with the season’s ultimate goal of qualifying for the CA State Games (8U) or the Class B Western Nationals Tournament (10U–14U) in July.

 Age Divisions: 8u, 10u, 12u, 14u

Fall Recreation (August-November)

Our Fall recreational season runs August through early November and is open to all players living within our league boundaries. Teams often compete with nearby leagues during this season, making it a slightly more competitive experience. NorCal Girls Softball provides oversight and coordination for Fall play. The fall season is a great time to move your player up to the next age division.

Select Legends

Select is part of the USA Softball Select Program and offers a longer competitive season than traditional All-Stars. Eligibility is limited to players who participate in our Spring recreational season. Athletes must attend tryouts and be selected to a team. Rosters are typically formed between November and January, and teams follow a USA Softball–assigned tournament schedule from January through July. Participation in the Spring recreational league is encouraged but not required. The program’s primary goal is to qualify for and compete in the Class B Western Nationals.

Age Divisions: 10u, 12u, 14u

CLINICS

The league offers a variety of player clinics throughout the year to support skill development. Some clinics are free, while others may include a small fee. We partner with local high schools and members of the broader softball community to provide these opportunities. All clinics are open to current/registered WSGS participants.
